TMC Transportation has an immediate full-time opening for an Account Manager working out of our customer's corporate office in Atlanta, GA.
The primary function of the Account Manager is to develop relationships through direct communication with the customer in order to drive growth and partnership. Creating methods of continuous improvement through daily communication and monitoring of customer's requirements, and providing excellent leadership and management guidance between the partnership.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develop and maintain positive relationships with customer to promote improvements in service and capacity solutions
Effectively communicate with sales, customer service, operations, and other internal personnel
Ensure customer commitments are being met on a daily basis
Provide summary data to Management on all KPI's and review needs for improving the system
Research and resolve customer inquiries and problems
Utilize web-based technology to gather and track operation data
Improve efficiencies in tracking and updating status of customer orders and service levels and meet customer requirements for submitting updated status of all shipments accordingly
Work with customers to find solutions to move any last minute/critical shipments that arise
Provide leadership role for any emergency situations and coordinating plans with internal key players to support the customer's logistics needs
Other duties as assigned
Four-year degree, preferably in Transportation and Logistics, and/or relevant experience in transportation or related field.
Proven leadership ability.
Fluent in computer applications and keyboard proficiency.
Ability to function in a fast-paced work environment and tolerate stress.
Ability to plan and organize, attention to detail, problem-solving skills.
Ability to stay organized on multiple tasks
Excellent interpersonal skills, including good listening skills.
Possess courteous, yet assertive telephone personality.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Must be able to sit and use a telephone and computer simultaneously for extended periods of time
Must be able to speak and hear clearly in a high volume telephone environment
